This past Sunday, the spirit of kindness and community filled the air as we gathered to create Birthday Boxes for the seniors living in low-income housing at Mercy Care in Gilbert, Arizona. It was a heartwarming day of connection and generosity, made possible by the collaboration of teenagers from H.E.A.L., dedicated volunteers, and community angels who came together to brighten someone’s day.
The event was nothing short of magical. With nimble hands and warm hearts, we crafted beautiful birthday cards, filled candy bags adorned with cheerful “Happy Birthday” tags, carefully packaged tea bags, created lovely jewelry, and assembled the birthday boxes. Each box was packed with love and filled with thoughtful donations: cozy socks, moisturizers, playing cards, notebooks, pens, jewelry, and so much more.
Every month, Mercy Care hosts a birthday celebration for their residents. Those celebrating their birthdays receive these special boxes as part of the festivities—a token of love and care that brings smiles and a sense of joy to their special day.
